Plymouth moviegoers evacuated after shots fired in lobby

Movie fans at the Plymouth Theater evacuated Friday night after a bullet was fired in the lobby.

According to Plymouth police, a suspect entered the lobby of the Emazine Willow Creek Theater on 9000 Shellard Parkway around 9 pm, firing at least two pistols and fleeing. Scott Whiteford.

No one was injured. At the time, the lobby was almost empty, and police officers made statements from several witnesses in attendance, said police chief Eric Faden.

Alexis Allston of Minneapolis was among the approximately 30 people who saw the movie “Venom” at the time. Approximately 30 minutes after the movie, the officer entered the theater and told movie fans that they had to leave, she said.

“Two cops came in and the movie stopped, and they said,’There was a shooting outside, we’re evacuating the theater,'” she said. “We walked out of the front door.”

It was calm during the evacuation and quiet in the second half of Friday. Police interviewed witnesses and performed forensic work on-site. No arrests have been reported as of Saturday morning.
