Canton police are working with a local church to help those affected by the recent hurricane.
Canton police have partnered with the United Pentecostal Church to provide Central American victims with the supplies they need to rebuild after two devastating hurricanes.
A second hurricane struck the area just two weeks after the hurricane eta caused a serious flood in Central America.
“An extraordinary double blow occurs in addition to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has already depleted resources and unemployed many in one of the poorest areas of Latin America,” said a Canton police official. ..
Authorities are looking for non-perishable foods, blankets, sheets, pillows and toiletries.
Canton Police will accept supplies from 9 am to 6 pm on November 21st and from 12 pm to 6 pm on November 22nd.
Donations will be accepted at the Canton Police Station on 151 Elizabeth Street.
Supplies are sent to Miami by members of the Canton Police Department.
The loaded supplies will be shipped to parts of Honduras and Nicaragua.
