Virginia Beach, Virginia (WAVY) —Virginia Beach police are seeking help from community members after a bank was robbed on Monday morning.

Police said at around 9:25 am on Monday, police received a call regarding a report of a man who had just robbed the location of SunTrust Bank in 700 blocks of First Colonial Rd.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspect entered the facility, displayed a pistol, and demanded cash from employees.

Police say the suspect left the bank and fled in a car already waiting nearby after receiving the undisclosed amount.

No injuries have been reported after the incident.

Witnesses described the suspect as a black man, about 6 feet 1 with a slim figure and facial hair. Officials added that he was wearing dark shorts and a short-sleeved shirt, and he could see a tattoo on his arm.
