Atlanta (CBS46)-Atlanta police arrested and attempted to stab a man they said was wanted for biting a part of the man’s ear.
Police arrested 36-year-old Landaras Cook on Tuesday without incident.
The incident took place on June 14th at Howell Park in southwestern Atlanta around 9 pm.
“It feels really terrible because I have to use this place to go from point A to point B,” said a woman who visits the area frequently.
According to police, victim Michael Glenn said he was sitting in the pavilion after the suspect approached and told him to leave the park.
The suspect was described in a police report as probably homeless. Police reported that the suspect continued to harass the victim before hitting him in the face.
The man began fighting, and that was when the victim was bitten by a part of his ear.
People in the area said the park could be dangerous after dark.
“I think I know a lot of people don’t intend to sugar coat it,” the woman said.
The two men broke up and police said the suspect made a knife and made several attempts to stab the victim.
The victim ran to stop the passersby, and the suspect fled the scene.
The photo shown is from the nearby MARTA station.
“It’s sad, very sad,” said the woman.
