Police officers and another man were injured in a shooting in Kansas, officials said.
Lions police officers were shot dead after answering a 911 call from a man who said he was threatened with a gun on Friday afternoon, according to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. When the police went to the Lions residence, they were shot by a man who lived there, said 40-year-old Adam Flavik.
The two bystanders who saw the shooting took the policeman to the hospital by car.
Later, additional police officers found a 56-year-old Lions man who was also shot outside.
Police officers were later transferred from a local hospital to a Wichita hospital in crisis. A 56-year-old man was in serious condition at a Wichita hospital.
According to investigators, an hour of standoffs continued after Hrabik withdrew to his residence. A negotiator with the Kansas Highway Patrol Special Response Team took him out of the house around 7:10 pm, the Kansas Research Bureau said.
