Paulie’s Island, South Carolina (WBTW) — A man in Pauly’s Island has been accused of assaulting a police officer who was serving an arrest warrant four times.
At around 3:40 pm on Saturday, a Georgetown County police officer was trying to provide an arrest warrant at his home on Waverly Road on Pawleys Island, according to an incident report obtained by News13.
When the police arrived home, they found Terrell Pocher, 28, outside. Police asked what his name was and gave it a fake name. According to police, after the policeman requested identification, he replied, “You got me,” and surrendered for arrest.
However, police said he began complaining about the K-9 police officer, who was also in the car, when he tried to get the porch into the car.
According to police, the porch was in the car all the time except for one leg, but police officers tried to get in the car, explaining that they had to use the K-9 car until they could leave the scene and switch cars.
According to officials, Pocher began to use dirty language and knelt on the officer’s face. Police officers were able to regain control of the porch before leaving to get a patrol vehicle.
According to police, after the policeman left, Pocher kicked the same policeman with his chest and then was taken out of the car and knocked to the ground for better control.
According to police, police officers lifted the porch from the ground and attempted to move him to another patrol vehicle as he requested. While walking towards the car, the porch stiffened and the policeman refused to put him in the car before piercing one of the policemen into his nose.
According to officials, another man, Sam Pocher Jr., 50, approached them while the officer was talking to Porcher, refused to back them up, and threatened them while using dirty language.
Police said he was arrested by Porcher Jr. It urged him to throw a punch back, and police said he grabbed the policeman’s radio. Pocher Jr. was detained and taken to an officer’s car.
The policeman then turned his attention to Porcher. According to officials, he began kicking the policeman between his legs while he was standing in front of the porch.
The porch was then laid face down on the ground until the agent arrived, at which point the porch was transferred to the emergency room and detention center.
Pocher was charged with four charges of assaulting the officer, and two charges of providing false information to the officer and interfering with and resisting his arrest.
