Nashville, Tennessee (WSMV)-Because more shoppers are already out compared to this time last year, Metropolis plans to patrol the ground and sky on Black Friday.

Police have a bird’s eye view of shoppers while watching over cars and people trying to break into shoplifting.

“People have invaded cars for years, but you can actually see it from a helicopter. Sometimes we’ll get a record of it,” said Sergeant Metropolis. Cartup said.

According to Nap, the aviation unit will fly early Friday morning and work with police on the ground to prevent people from stealing what they find on Black Friday.

“We’re flying low enough to clearly identify it as a metropolis. We’re definitely watching over the shopping center.”

Mr. Nap said he would notify police officers in the area if he found anything suspicious.

“Being on a helicopter, we can fly about 500 feet above the ground and see a lot,” Nap said. “You can see the entire parking lot. If you find any suspicions, call the ground unit assigned to that shopping center to investigate further.

“We think this year will be a little different now that people have been vaccinated, left home and the restrictions on all these businesses have been lifted.”

Everyone planning to confront a crowded store is careful to be vigilant. Be sure to keep valuables and new purchases in the trunk of your car and park in a bright place. If you find someone lurking while you’re on the go, call the police to investigate. I’m with you on the go!
