Orlando, Florida — A Florida sheriff says as much as his agent can escalate the situation after a 14-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy break into a house, find a weapon and fire at a police officer. He states that he has done that.
Sheriff Mike Chitwood of Volusia County said that after she pointed her shotgun, a member of the House of Representatives eventually shot dead the girl and the boy surrendered on an AK-47.
by WKMG-TV In Orlando, the incident began on Tuesday night when the two fled the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home, a nursing home.
When I was looking for children, the residents approached the agent, saying that there was a sound of glass breaking in a nearby house. When the agent contacted the homeowner, he warned them that there were some firearms in the house.
Please see the video of the police body camera in the following cases. The video contains images of gun violence that can be difficult to see.
According to agents, children armed with pump shotguns and AK-47s fired at police at around 8:30 local time. This led to shootings from children and occasional shootings over a period of about 30 minutes.
The sheriff’s office says the House of Representatives did not fire during the standoffs, hoping to escalate the situation. However, lawmakers eventually fired their weapons when the 14-year-old girl said she pointed her shotgun at her and ignored the warning to drop the gun.
The agent shot the girl multiple times. WKMG reports that she was shot in the chest and arms. She was in critical condition Wednesday after surgery, but was in a stable condition.
The boy later surrendered and was not injured during the incident. The legislator was not injured.
The 12-year-old boy told investigators that he was “going to roll it like a GTA,” referring to a Grand Theft Auto video game, according to a report from ABC News.
Both children have been charged with attempted first-class murder and armed robbery. ABC news I will report.
