Spartanburg, South Carolina (WSPA) – The Spartanburg Police Department has nominated suspects in a shooting in downtown Spartanburg, killing one and injuring another.
Police have charged Tyson Maurice Thompson for murder, attempted murder, possession of weapons during violent crimes, illegal carrying of pistols and illegal carrying of firearms by persons convicted of domestic violence.
Reported earlier Police officers were called to Magnolia Street around 2:20 am on Saturday for the shooting.
Police said on arrival that Spartanberg’s 31-year-old Dearrius Lynell Bobo had found a gunshot wound on his upper body lying on the sidewalk. Bobo died on the scene.
According to police, a group of individuals were asked to leave by local FIG guards for pre-shooting discussions. One of the shots was never allowed to enter the bar.
As Bobo and others were walking down the sidewalk away from the bar, someone from the red Toyota passed by and started shooting.
Officers were told that a friend had taken another victim to the hospital to receive treatment for his injury.
Police said a red Toyota was found, but police officers could not find Thompson.
