From Thursday’s Police, a conference call with a bipartisan group of seven governors and president-elect Joe Biden showed a real sense of urgency.
“We really feel we can’t wait for the next administration to accomplish some of what we need now,” Police said in an interview with The Washington Post after the phone call.
Biden still can’t do much to financially support the state. Federal stimulus has stagnated in Congress. Police has convened a special session for Colorado lawmakers to find funding. He is not happy with the current president’s response to the pandemic.
“There’s really a lot in common about where we are as a nation,” Police told the National Governors Association’s executive committee about four Democrats and four Republicans. “So there’s a lot of work going on. It will take 60 days to get the honor of working with a regime that values more professionalism and ability than it does now.”
Mr Police said he continues to appreciate the guidance that the next Biden administration can provide on how the state can avoid the blockade. Feelings echoed by the next president.
“There is no national shutdown. There is no national closure as all regions, all regions and all communities can be different, so there is no situation where a complete national closure is required.” Mr. Biden said.
The President-elect and governor also agree that the distribution of the vaccine should be considered immediately. However, President Trump is still fighting election results in court, and the Biden administration transition does not have access to critical resources.
