Portland, Oregon 2021-06-17 01:00:00 –

Portland, Oregon (KOIN) —Portland has celebrated its pride since the 1970s and hosted its first Portland Pride Parade in 1994 — unfortunately canceled last year due to a pandemic.

Thankfully, the Portland Pride Parade is back this year. However, there are pitfalls.

Debraporta, Executive Director of Pride Northwest, said: ..

Porta says he rented the Portland International Raceway, chose a date, invited participants at a specific time, and made it possible to shoot everything.

“”[We’ve been] Created a show between the parade and several performances on June 20th. This was a typical parade day of the year, “she said. “It’s exciting.”

Pride Northwest will stream everything this Sunday. KOIN 6 News and CW in Portland will showcase all the highlights at a special show on June 27th. KOIN6’s very own Emily Burris and Jenny Hansson co-hosted the parade in collaboration with drag queens Summer Lynne Seasons and Lake Maria Peters.

You’ll see all the classics of the Portland LGBTQ + scene like Darcel and Poison Waters, the various businesses that have long supported pride, and some pretty great performances along the way. Get ready to have fun!
