Prep softball glance: Spartans continue torrid stretch; Southwest wins Papio tournament | High School Softball – Omaha, Nebraska

Lincoln East continued its hot stretch with softball diamonds and won the Omaha Westside Invitational on Saturday.

No. 4 Sparta knocked off No. 2 Omaha Marian 5-2 and then beat No. 9 Elkhorn South 5-3 in championship pool play.

A 4-0 run in the tournament pushed Sparta’s winning streak to 19. They haven’t lost since the first weekend of the season.

Campbell Petrick is back home and Sydney Waltz has tripled in two runs with a win over Omaha Marian. Petrick also won the circle.

Senior Morgan Adams hit the Grand Slam in the fourth inning when East took a 5-0 lead over Elk Horn South. Jordan Bushy won by hitting 10 in 5 innings.

Lincoln North Star defeated Lincoln North Star 14-3 and Omaha Central 9-1 on Saturday 2-0. The northeast rebounded with a 9-8 victory over the central.

Southwest wins Papio tournament: No. 3 Lincoln Southwest lost their first match in the highly competitive Papillion La Vista Invitational.

The Silver Hawks never lost.

Friday’s 13-0 rout in Platte County, Missouri lifts the Southwest to Saturday’s Championship Bracket, with Silver Hawks at No. 7 Mirrored South (3-1) and Lee’s Summit West, Missouri (5-1). Won.
