This week, presidential election Joe Biden became emotional by talking to firefighters, nurses, and other frontline workers in the coronavirus pandemic.
“The physical effects of this virus are devastating. I myself held the hand of a dying patient who was crying for an invisible family. Mary Turner, a nurse in the intensive care unit in Minnesota. While holding back tears, he took care of his colleagues who were fighting for their lives on a ventilator. They know that their hospitals and governments got sick because they weren’t protecting them.
“I’m very emotional and sorry,” she added with tears. “You made me emotional,” Biden replies, wiping his own tears.
Wednesday’s online roundtable came on the same day that the United States killed a record number of people in a single day, surpassing 1,800 and a total of more than 250,000 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
“It’s not enough to praise you. We have to protect you, we have to pay you,” Biden told a group of front-line workers. ..
Biden attended a roundtable from Wilmington, Delaware. There he has a house and has been stuck since election day.
The Roundtable is one of several meetings held by President-elect last week to bring together business leaders, community members, frontline workers and professionals to curb the spread of the coronavirus and rebuild the economy. Start working together on possible strategies.
Biden has convened the Coronavirus Advisory Board to begin working on solutions and strategies for Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris in their inauguration in January.
He has encouraged national efforts to demand masks and social distance. However, the Governor must make these decisions.
