Tucson, Arizona (KGUN) —The crew on the corner of 6th and 17th Avenues Primavera Foundation New resource center.
“There was a center here, which was in a very small, distressed bank building, which is one of the reasons we decided we had to expand,” said Peggy Hutchison, CEO of the Primavera Foundation. I am.
In 2020, Primavera demolished an old building and began construction on the same plot.
Primavera serves thousands of people each year. Their staff and volunteers connect people in need with food, medical care, employment opportunities and affordable housing. Hatchson said the need for non-profit services soared during the pandemic.
“We all need a safe place to call our homes, or do our best to get as much support as possible for our neighbors and community members who are at risk of losing their homes. I’m doing my best, “Hachison said.
Primavera wants to make the new center a place where people can stop by for help in all areas of their lives. At 10,000 square feet, it’s more than twice the size of their old center. This expansion opens up room for new partnerships.
“Primavera not only provides services, but also many community partners such as the El Rio Health Center, some behavioral health care institutions, and the Pima Animal Care Center. All the resources people need to be self-sufficient. You can find it, “says Hutchison.
The center will open in August 2021 and will begin to support more people at critical times.
“I think what we really need to focus on, rather than being overwhelmed by needs, is to focus on it. We are making a difference. We should celebrate it.” Hutchison said.
Building a new Primavera resource center cost $ 3.7 million.Click to donate to the cause Here..
