Prince Andrew is being sued by Virginia Roberts Giuffre in New York. Virginia Roberts Giuffre says she had sex with her at the age of 17. Andrew has denied similar allegations from Juffle in the past. Giuffre has filed a civil lawsuit seeking damages, but the proceedings cannot proceed until the documents have been submitted.
In an affidavit filed in a court in New York on Friday, a process server hired by Juffle’s legal team to formally notify Andrew of the proceedings was sent to the Royal Lodge, the main gate of Andrew’s house, for Metropolitan Police Department security. On August 27, Windsor said he had left a document detailing it.
Providing such documents “is consistent with the provisions of service for individual defendants required by the Supreme Courts of England and Wales,” said a document submitted to the Southern District of New York. Obtained by CNN.
It is unclear whether Prince Andrew, the Queen’s second son, was in his residence at the time, and whether his lawyer said this was a proper service. Andrew’s legal team representative did not immediately respond to the comments.
Buckingham Palace refused to comment on whether the Duke of York was served and previously refused to comment on the proceedings.
Buckingham Palace also said in a statement to CNN, “It is strongly denied that the Duke of York had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Virginia Roberts. The opposite allegations are false and grounded. No, “he previously denied Juffre’s claim.
CNN has contacted Giuffre’s lawyer but has not yet responded.
The process server spoke with the security officer when he arrived at the Royal Lodge on the morning of August 26th. The security team does not allow anyone to provide legal documents on the premises, “according to the affidavit, all court proceedings.”
According to the affidavit, the process server was told that everything that remained there would not be transferred to the defendant. According to the affidavit, the process server said he called the number of Prince Andrew’s lawyer given to him by the security officer and left a message.
The next day, the process server returned to the Royal Lodge, where it could leave a secure legal document at the front gate, which would be transferred to the defendant’s legal team, the affidavit said.
It was unclear how Prince Andrew’s lawyer would respond, but a pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Monday, September 13 in New York.
Jeffrey, a sex offender and victim of shameful financier Jeffrey Epstein, claims to have been forced to have sex with Prince Andrew. She told the BBC in 2019 that she was trafficked to Epstein and was forced to have sex with his friends, including the Duke of York, when she was a minor.
Prince Andrew, who has repeatedly denied Jeffrey’s allegations, is a British socialite and former girlfriend of Epstein, who is now charged with conspiracy and sexual trafficking, Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. The relationship with him continues to plague him.
US officials have previously accused Andrew of not cooperating in an attempt to interview him as part of an investigation into a ring suspected of being sexually trafficked. Epstein and Maxwell are suspected of being active.
The prince withdrew from royal duties following a 2019 interview with the BBC, where he was widely believed to have hurt his credibility. He rarely appears in public now.
