Canton, Ohio (WJW) —Pro Football Hall of Famark Road Humphrey died Saturday night at the age of 77.

Humphrey played 13 seasons of professional football in the Atlanta Falcons (1968-1978) and the Philadelphia Eagles (1979-1981).

Humphrey is credited with 130 carrier sack. He led the team in nine of the 13 seasons he played for the Falcons and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Humphrey was selected to win the first team’s Allpro honor five times and play in six Pro Bowls.

Inducted into the Hall of Fame, Chairman Jim Porter said in a statement:

“The whole family at the Pro Football Hall of Fame mourns the death of Claude Humphrey. Known as a diligent and credible teammate, Humphrey always wants to help his team where he needs it, and success is collectively achieved. I knew it would be done. His humble spirit led him in and out of the field.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Claude’s family during this difficult time. The Hall of Fame protects his legacy forever. The Hall of Fame flag is hung on the half-mast of Claude’s memory. “
