The children were able to work on various golf skills together. “We did putting, chipping and driving,” said Henry, one of the children who participated.
As a kid, Glimmer attended a golf clinic hosted by First Tea.
“I’m in a position to do this and give back to the kids to feel like they are now. It feels great,” Glimmer said. “It’s cool to see it go around completely.”
After gaining conditional status in 2019, Glimmer expected to have many opportunities to play, but COVID-19 hit a golf game and stopped.
“I’ve done a lot of qualifying. I’ve shot 64 and 65 in the last few months, but I haven’t played in tournaments,” Glimmer said. “It can be frustrating as if you were really, really good at playing and then didn’t get the chance.”
Glimmer now has the opportunity to see his efforts pay off.
“It’s definitely exciting to see this week because I had the chance and felt like I was playing really well. My efforts have begun to pay off,” Glimmer said.
The children were happy to experience the skills of the professionals.
“Well, they hit quite a long way, I think one of them hit it in space,” said Eddie, another kid’s participant.
