Atlanta (CBS46) — A prominent Atlanta architect was identified as one of three people who died in a helicopter crash in central Georgia on Wednesday, September 16.
according to Macon Telegraph, Two fathers, Carson McElheny, were on board when the helicopter crashed into the Piemont National Wildlife Sanctuary. Other victims were identified as one of the pilots, Alistair Pereira, 42, and another pilot, Charles O’Gilby, 46.
The crash site was discovered around noon the next day. National Transportation Safety Board spokesman Peter Nadson said the helicopter is the Robinson R66, a five-seater chopper capable of flying at 160 mph and up to 400 mph.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but it rained heavily on the day.
