Wichita, Kansas 2021-04-07 18:38:05 –
The wind blew from the northwest and the temperature dropped today. After many Tuesday 70’s and 80’s days, Wednesday afternoon temperatures dropped to the 40’s and 50’s, almost 40 degrees lower in some places.
The threat of a violent storm moved east to Missouri, Iowa, via Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. As the stream cooled, the rain turned into snow in the west, and light accumulation was seen.
The atmosphere is warm enough all day long, and it will rain tonight from central to eastern Kansas.
Wichita should be able to take part in some of these showers before the system launches late tonight.
Overnight when the system departs, the clouds first clear to the west. This allows you to go east under the clouds at low prices in your 40s and down to your 30s.
This happens until Thursday afternoon, so the wind gusts at 30-40 mph. The clouds will clear to the east and the sunshine will take over!
On Thursday the temperature will change and the warmth will return! Daytime highs return to the 1960s and 1970s.
Serious fire weather concerns are expected. Fire weather warnings will be posted west as gusts contribute to the risk of high grassland fires.
The wind weakens on Thursday night and recovers again on Friday at speeds of over 20 mph.
Several showers are possible and a storm can occur east of the turnpike. Oklahoma makes better shots for the storm.
On Sunday night, there is another fast wave from central to eastern Kansas with even more blisters and storms.
Next week looks cool with the highs of the 50’s and 60’s. Low prices for people in their 30s and 40s are expected. I don’t approve that the snow is over yet for the northwestern community, as another opportunity appears to be available in the system early next week.
Moisture does not stop the flow in our direction, as the end of next week appears to provide extensive rainfall to most of Kansas.
