Miami >> Rapper Polo G was arrested on charges of including a police officer’s battery and resisted arrest for violence and criminal mischief.
According to prison records, a rapper named Taurus Bartlett was put in jail on five charges early Saturday and released on public debt hours later.
Miami Police Department issued an affidavit of arrest, police said Bartlett, 22, and others had been pulled early Saturday, and the rapper ended up in a ground struggle with police. One of the documents states that police officers trying to handcuff Bartlett were attacked multiple times.
According to the document, Bartlett was aggressive as he resisted his arrest in downtown Miami. One of the police officers heard passengers claiming that the vehicle was bulletproof, so he and all the passengers in the car he was traveling, saying they might have weapons. He said he had ordered him to get out of the car to tap his gun.
Police said the arrest was captured by some worn cameras and are considering cases involving examining all camera footage. Police spokesman Michael Vega also said he was investigating several threats to personnel and facilities in response to the arrest of the rapper.
The Chicago-based artist had just released his latest album, “Hall of Fame,” on Friday. His single “Rapstar” debuted in April at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. His mother and manager said on Instagram that Polo G and his brother were in a safe car after the album’s release party.
His mother, Stacia Mack, posted a message on Facebook saying she had detained other people arrested on the same transport as Polo G. The prison record did not list the rapper’s lawyer.
