Baltimore-Maryland officials said Friday that the death of Ravens linebacker Jaylon Ferguson was determined to be an accidental drug overdose.
Bruce Goldfarb of the coroner’s office said Ferguson died of fentanyl and cocaine.
Ferguson was found unresponsive in his residence in North Baltimore shortly before 11:30 pm on June 21st.
He was 26 years old.
He leaves his fiancé and three children.
According to his fiancé’s social media post, Ferguson’s life viewing and celebration will take place on July 2nd in St Francisville, Louisiana.
Ferguson is in his fourth season with the team after being ranked 85th overall in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft by Louisiana Tech.
Fans came to know Ferguson by the nickname “Sack Daddy” on the field.
In a total of 38 career games, he posted 4.5 sack and two fumble recovery.
