Record shoe drive extended through Wednesday | News – Bakersfield, California

Bakersfield, California 2021-05-30 13:57:00 –

Already exceeding the goal of 3,000 pairs of usable shoes, the Guaranteed Shoe Center has extended the 29th Annual Shoe for our homeless shoe drive until Wednesday to collect even more.

“Our goal was 3,000 pairs of drive shoes,” Guarantee President Rosco Ronic said in a news release. “We have exceeded that and are approaching 3,500 pairs!”

Donations benefit men, women and children at the Bakersfield Homeless Center. This drive has brought more than 85,000 pairs of shoes over 28 years.

You can bring your shoes to a store on 21st and Chester Avenue in downtown Bakersfield, or at KGET-17 on the corner of 22nd and L Street.

Sponsors include Bakersfield Homeless Center, Capital Dental, KGET-17, Telemundo, and Galbraith North America, which loads donations into Bakersfield Californian.
