Boston, Massachusetts 2021-10-11 22:39:18 –
A year after having one of the worst baseball records, the Red Sox are heading for ALCS.
Boston defeated Tampa Bay 6-5 in Game 4 on Monday night to win Series 3-1.
After drawing the match 5-5 from the raise, the Red Sox recorded another goodbye victory. Christian Vazquez’s single started innings and moved up to second place with Christian Arroyo’s sacrifice fly. Bobby Dalbec’s pinch hitter Travis Shaw first arrived because Bay Rays’ first baseman Jiman Choi didn’t throw cleanly, and Bay Rays moved up to third place. Kike Hernandez hit the sacrifice fly to the left and scored the series-winning run.
After a disappointing Game 1 performance, Eduardo Rodríguez gave the Red Sox five solid innings at the start of Monday, allowing three hits, no walks and two runs with six strikeouts.
The Red Sox won all the runs in the third inning. Rafael Devers hit a three-run home run from Shane McClanahan on the left side of the Rays. Shane McClanahan came to rescue starter Collin McHugh at the beginning of the inning. Xander Bogaerts drove the Divers at the next at bat, and Alex Verdugo doubled to win the Bogaerts, leading 5-0.
However, the Red Sox struck a five-run lead. 5-2 down in the sixth round, Rays shortstop Wander Franco hit a solo home run to cut the Red Sox lead to two. For the eighth time, Ryan Brasier gave up consecutive doubles to Matt Zunino and Kevin Kilmier, resulting in a 5-4 match. Randy Arozarena tied the single at the next at bat and won the Keelmier.
Garrett Whitlock appeared shortly after Arozarena hit and retired six straight raise hitters to draw the score.
