Las Vegas (KTNV) — When thinking about Latin women, the first thing that comes to mind is fierce and fierce. But one quality that every Latina has is strength.

For centuries, and even today, Latina women are said to be obedient, stereotyped as housewives, and to serve their families.

In Hispanic families, only men worked and women were at home.

“I believed that the mission of my life was to cook, clean and care for my children,” said Viridiana Vidal. “It came to my mind because of my culture.”

However, today’s Latina has a different view of the world and is trying to differentiate itself from past generations.

“Modern Latina is a woman who breaks stereotypes and doesn’t really look back,” said Cecia Alvarado, head of Mi Familia Vota, Nevada.

Millennial Latina strives for greater success.

Women such as Vidal, Alvarado and Jessica Tabares, who are in charge of SW marketing and consulting, are examples. Each of them emigrated to the United States at an early age in search of better opportunities and is today the leader in Las Vegas, demonstrating that Latina can actually do everything.

“I think this is a new model for our society. Women in Latina are successful and just want to contribute to our society,” says Tavares.

But success comes with additional pressure. Balanced behavior that wants to succeed for oneself while caring for the family.

“For the longest time, I was guilty of trying to succeed,” Vidal said.

“We still take care of our families,” she said. “It’s our motivation and behind everything we do, but that doesn’t mean you can’t chase your dreams or do what you like.”

Latina today embraces their culture from a whole new perspective. Assessing the heritage and beliefs of their family, they prove that there is nothing impossible, even if the odds are piled up against them.
