Washington (AP) — Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar is begging Republican leaders to do more to curb “anti-Islamic hatred” in their class.
At a press conference on Tuesday, she recently played a recording of the tragic murder threat left to her by voicemail.
Omar, one of only a handful of Muslim members in Parliament, has been the subject of repeated attacks by conservative experts and some Republicans in Parliament.
The latest instance is Precipitated by comments From Colorado’s first lawmaker Lauren Boebert, a conservative flamethrower who recently likened Omar to a terrorist carrying a bomb.
Omar says such speeches from major politicians have real consequences.
