Pembroke, NC (WBTW) – A Pembroke man faces 12 misdemeanors against animal cruelty after 12 dogs were confiscated from his Robeson County home.
A member of the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office says 25-year-old Nehemiah Putty was arrested on Monday. Community members provided information to their agents about the living conditions and malnutrition of several dogs at Putty’s house on Ottomus Road.
The dog was rescued and taken to a local veterinary hospital for treatment and care. The sheriff’s office provided a picture of the dog.
“There is no excuse for animal cruelty,” said Sheriff Bernice Wilkins. “Animals cannot express their feelings, but when abuse is admitted, we must be in their voice.” Sheriff Wilkins also called the case “terrifying.”
If you have information about an animal cruelty case or other case, please contact the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office (910) 671-3170 or (910) 671-3100.
