Murfreesboro, TN (WTVF) —Robots and drones helped Murfreesboro police find a wanted man hiding in the attic of his house.
Police arrested 37-year-old Shelton Hall in Murfreesboro. Officials say he was detained for more than an hour in the home of Centerpoint Town Home on Old Rescasus Road before he was arrested Thursday.
Hall was found looking out the door of the house shortly before 4 pm, but he refused to leave.
The department’s Special Operations Forces (SOU) used robots and a drone with a camera to find a hall hidden under the insulation in the attic of a town home.
Captain Cary Gensemer said the technology would add a layer of security to the corresponding police officers that would not otherwise exist.
“The technology allows us to use equipment rather than police to search for and observe potentially dangerous suspects, keeping them away from harm,” Gensemer said in a press release. “It also protects the suspect and reduces the chances of an armed conflict.”
Hall wanted for a parole breach and a failed appearance.
He remains at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center with a $ 20,000 deposit. The hearing will take place on March 22nd at the General Session Court in Rutherford County.
