Colorado Springs — Today is National Chocolate Day. And a local family has been serving chocolates for the community for over 20 years, and the pandemic has proven to be a turning point in the family’s business.
The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Old Colorado Springs has a lot to tell. The family-owned franchise had to close three of its five stores during the pandemic. It has been devastating until now.
Majie, a mother and business owner, said this was a disguise blessing because she could focus on the other two stores.
“It was hard, but there were 5 stores. Currently we have 2 stores, but it’s really great to be able to focus on all 2 stores,” said store owner Mazie Baalman. ..
Today, the family shared a secret with News5 reporter Caroline Peters about why the business is not only attractive but also successful. The family is excited to still open the Old Colorado City location. They say this is the place of best performance and they love this building.
“Oh, you don’t have to be number one here without your customers, but as you know, they’re very supportive and they appear even when we’re at the center of the pandemic. Was great. “
