The tournament announced the abstention of the 20 Grand Slam winners.

Federer said in a statement that it was important to listen to his body as he returned from two surgeries on his right knee.

Federer, 39, was to face Matteo Berrettini in the fourth round on Monday.
Instead, Federer focuses on the glass coat portion during the season.
Wimbledon begins on June 28th. He has won eight men’s record titles there.
