Room Envy: Colorful recycled light fixtures add whimsy to this kitchenette – Atlanta, Georgia

Light art
The homeowner is from Colombia and was familiar with these fun fixtures with pet lamps that incorporate Colombian weaving techniques using discarded PET bottles. “Wright captured a tropical and playful style that reflected their personality,” says Mazzi. “Every single lamp is unique.”

Wall statement
Picking colors from the largest pendants, the walls are covered with sky blue geometric tiles of specialty tiles.

bright side
White cabinets, white quartz countertops and light gray floors (Crossville porcelain tiles) provide a classic contrast to blue. The similarly white CB2 table and DWR chairs maintain a modern feel.

Floating figure
The open shelves display art collected by homeowners, including vases of Jeff Koons puppies.

Designer Tips: It’s very functional even in a small space. Built-in refrigerators, sinks, ice machines and popcorn machines make snacks convenient, especially with the media room in the immediate vicinity.
