Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (WBTW) – Running 4 Heroes has announced that Myrtle Beach cop Andrew Onestad, who was injured in the same shooting that killed PFC Hancher in October, will receive a $ 10,000 grant.
This check is part of an organization’s monthly injured first responder grant. Officer Wangstad was the first person to receive a 2021 grant. Twelve-year-old Zachariah and his father will travel to Myrtle Beach this weekend to present a check.
Wangstad was one of the people summoned to a domestic incident in a Myrtle Beach apartment complex last October. When the cops arrived, they fired at them, killed the PFC hunter, and attacked the royal prince with his knees.
With this grant, the organization will award $ 95,500 to various injured heroes from January 2020.
Zachariah also runs a mile to honor the fallen Holly County police officer Melton “Fox” Gore, who died on duty while cleaning debris in a highway crash last week.
Participation in the run is restricted due to COVID-19 restrictions. The date of this run has not yet been announced.
