Saban calls out Texas A&M for using NIL deals to buy players – Colorado Springs, Colorado

Birmingham, Alabama (AP) —Coach Nick Saban of Alabama has called on Texas A & M to say that the school is “buying” players by trading names, images and portraits.

Aggie’s signed the top recruitment class in the country earlier this year.

While talking at an event in Birmingham, Alabama, Savan also mentioned Jackson and Miami as schools that used NIL trading to seduce players.

Jackson coach Deion Sanders lied to Savan’s comment on the $ 1 million NIL deal against a well-promoted recruit.

He also mentioned Miami billionaire John Lewis, who funded the NIL transaction for many athletes at the University of Miami.

Alabama players have earned more than $ 3 million from sponsorship and approval deals “in the right way,” Savan said.

Savan’s comments are too close to home, as Texas A & M and Alabama are playing at the same conference SEC.

Aggie’s is also taught by former Savant Assistant Jimbo Fisher.

In February, Fisher resolved his frustration after rumors swirled around A & M spending $ 30 million on NIL transactions to get players to play at school.

The NCAA has approved the NIL policy, which came into effect on July 1, but some are concerned that the team may use it as an incentive and de facto consideration for hiring.

Saban’s comments came after the NCAA issued guidance to the Division I team last week to clarify the rules for boosters involved in recruitment.
