Los Angeles (AP) — Native American prolific character actor Saginaw Grant, the genetic director of Sack and Fox Nation in Oklahoma, has died.

He was 85 years old.

Grant spokeswoman Lani Carmichael said Grant died of natural causes at a private medical facility in Hollywood, California on Wednesday.

“He loved both Oklahoma and LA,” Carmichael said. Associated Press.. “He built a house here as an actor, but never forgot his roots in Oklahoma. He remained a fan of Sooner Nation.”

Born July 20, 1936 in Pawnee, Oklahoma, Grant was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.

He began acting in the late 1980s and has played the role of character in dozens of films and television shows, including The World’s Fastest Indian, Breaking Bad, in the last three decades.

According to Carmichael, Grant traveled around the world to talk to people about Native American culture.

“The motto of his life was always to respect each other and not talk about each other in a negative way,” she said, AP reported.
