Saint Agnes Medical Center, Valley Children’s Hospital workers required to have COVID vaccine beginning today – Fresno, California

Fresno, California 2021-09-21 12:07:30 –

Fresno, CA (KFSN)-Thousands of workers in two local hospitals need to be completely vaccinated or lose their jobs.

Starting Tuesday, employees of St. Agnes Medical Center and Valley Children’s Hospital will be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

The 2,900 employees of St. Agnes need to make sure they are vaccinated.

Authorities say tax exemptions are available for people with religious or health reasons, but they must be formally requested and approved.

At Valley Children, all staff, doctors, vendors, and people doing business in hospitals need vaccinations.

Kaiser Permanente aims for full vaccination of all employees on September 30th.

Action News spoke with Senior Vice President last month about the move.

“Our hope is that unvaccinated employees understand what’s happening with the Delta variant and see the hospital fill up again in preparation for the fourth surge. That’s what we’re doing, “says Michelgaskill. James.

As highly contagious delta mutants spread throughout the Central Valley and the United States, health authorities and medical staff are struggling to keep up with the surge in cases, especially among unvaccinated people.
