St. Paul Saints extended his winning streak to four games on Thursday night, scoring three points in the top of the ninth inning and defeating Iowa Cubs 4-2 in Des Moines.
Saints went down in the 9th inning 2-1 and overtook the Cubs with two singles, two hit batters, and costly errors.
After Jimmy Kerrigan and Daniel Descalso were hit by pitch, Tzu-Wei Lin scored a RBI single and drew to two points.
Tomas Telis dribbled 30 feet at the first baseline pitched by Adam Morgan, but his throw first dropped the right fieldline to score two points.
Rob Whalen came out in the bottom of the ninth inning and flew Sergio Alcantara to the left, killing the runners on first, third and one death.
Whalen then struck out Abiatal Avelino and won his first save of the season.
The two teams will face each other again on Friday night in Round 4 of the six-game series, with right-handed Griffin Jacks (2 wins, 1 loss, ERA 4.29) starting Saints.
