Salami snacks sold at Trader Joe’s are associated with outbreaks – Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Citterio-branded premium Italian-style salamistic is associated with the outbreak of Salmonella.

Snacks were sold at Trader Joe’s in eight states.

  • Michigan
  • Minnesota
  • New jersey
  • New York
  • Virginia

According to the CDC, 20 people became ill after eating the snack and 3 had to be hospitalized.

“Most people infected with Salmonella experience diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps,” the CDC said.

People are asked to throw away the snacks and disinfect the items and surfaces where the snacks were stored.
