Omaha, Nebraska (KMTV) —Tuesday celebrates Toyotan Tuesday. This is an opportunity for corporate organizations, professional offices, and churches that set up angel trees or toy boxes for donations to deliver items to the Salvation Army and get a good start. Sort and distribute toys before Christmas.

They collect donations from 9am to 4:30 pm, sort them and distribute them to three Toyland distribution centers. There, the family will shop for free on December 17th and 18th.

The drop-off location is clearly indicated on the east side of the Salvation Army Renaissance Village campus.

So far, the Salvation Army says it’s doing well with donations of unwrapped toys, but it can still be used more.

“I think we’re on track, but it’s always good to have more or less, as there are often people who came to us at the last minute and still need something. “Major Greg Thompson, director of the Salvation Army, said. “They thought they could handle it, but in the end they couldn’t.”

Demand is much higher this year as well.

“This year we’re dealing with about 15,000 to 16,000 people during the Christmas season, an increase of about 10 percent over what we saw last year,” says Thompson. “So it’s a great opportunity to have this toy country that will help you bring your toys on Tuesday and give your family a wonderful Christmas.

Individuals who want to donate to any location in Jensen Auto & Tire still have time. They are accepting toy donations until Saturday, December 11th.

Two men and one truck will receive their trash can on Monday, December 13th.
