Sandusky, Ohio (WJW) – Bond was set at $ 1 million for a Sandusky man facing murder.

35-year-old Bryan Ruiz has been detained in Erie County Jail and will return to court next week for a preliminary hearing.

According to police, Lewis has been accused of killing Norwalk’s Branden Murphy, 28.

Murphy was attacked and shot by a dog.. Around 1 pm on October 8th, some people called 911 saying they saw a man lying on Pork Street.

“There’s a guy here on this street. He has something wrong. Blood is everywhere,” one caller told the 911 Dispatcher.

The victim died in the hospital after a while.

The suspect fled and was found in another home in Erie County hours later.

Jared Oliver, police chief of Sandusky, said his police officer did a “great” job of finding and arresting the suspect, and no one else was injured.

So far, the motive for the murder is unknown. The detective continues to investigate.
