Sarah Jeffery of ‘Charmed’ Reboot slams reviews of original cast

No restraint! Sarah jeffery slammed the original Charm cast on their repeated reviews for the rebooted series.

Jeffery, 24, responded to recent negative comments from OG stars Holly Marie Combs and Rose McGowan. The former partners addressed Netflix’s removal of their version of the streamer, which they said was done so that fans couldn’t watch the one featuring “old people.”

McGowan, 47, then suggested the CW remake “sucks” before adding, “I haven’t seen it, I can’t say that. I’ve never seen it, but I’m glad people have jobs. But it can still suck.

Jeffery responded to the moment after a fan tweeted the video and called attention to how the “white women of OG Charm consistently put “the reboot that features women of color.”

“You know, I saw this earlier and I refrained from saying anything. I thought it was better to let them scream into the abyss ”, Jeffery tweeted, sharing a clip of the McGowan and Combs review. “But I mean I find it sad and downright pathetic to see adult women behaving like this.

Canadian actress continued, “I really hope they find happiness elsewhere, and not in the form of belittling other WOCs. I would be embarrassed to behave that way. Peace and love for all of you.

From there Jeffery then tweeted a GIF by Glinda from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, who said, “Are you a good witch or a bad witch?”

Jeffery stars as Maggie Vera in rebooted series alongside Madeleine Mantock (Macy Vaughn) and Melonie Diaz (Mel Vera). The show debuted on The CW in 2018 and was renewed for a third season earlier this year.

The original Charm ran for eight seasons on The WB from 1998 to 2006. McGowan (Paige Matthews) and Combs (Piper Halliwell) starred alongside Alyssa Milano (Phoebe Halliwell). For the first three seasons, Shannen doherty played Halliwell’s older sister, Prue, and was later replaced by McGowan, who played Paige and Piper’s half-sister.

In the past, OG actors have expressed their aversion to the reinvented series. Combs, 46, tweeted in 2018 that she believed the reboot was based on the success of the original. “Until you ask us to rewrite it as [showrunner] Brad kern weekly, don’t even think about capitalizing on our hard work, ”she wrote at the time. “Charm belongs to the four of us, to our vast amount of writers, crews and mostly fans. FYI, you won’t deceive them by owning a title / stamp. So goodbye.”

Milano, for his part, said Us weekly in 2019, that the reboot “seemed really disrespectful” because the original four ladies would “not have been included from the start.” Meanwhile, Doherty tweeted in 2018 that she wanted to be “constructive” with his criticisms while aiming the reboot’s “terrible and a little offensive” synopsis. The remake summary dubbed it “a fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series.”
