Tampa, Florida — Five-year-old Everyoung loves airplanes and wants to be an Air Force pilot when he grows up like his great-grandfather.
“When she first boarded the plane, she goes, I want to fly this, and I said someday the baby would do it,” said Ever’s father Jimmy Young Jr. Said.
But what started as a stomachache last year tried to get in the way of that dream.
“It was a stomachache that turned our world upside down,” Young said. I have been fighting leukemia since I was diagnosed with leukemia. Young says she is approaching remission.
On Tuesday, Ever was pledged to MacDill Air Force Base to shadow the pilot and experience her dream career of being in the Air Force.
She was able to fly the plane through the simulator, talk to the pilot in air traffic control, and see inside the actual Air Force plane.
“This is one of her biggest dreams,” Young said.
As part of the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation’s “Fashion Funds the Cure” event, Ever’s video as a pilot has been added to the videos of six other children fighting cancer to better treat and hope for children with cancer. Raise research funds to give. family.
