Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky 2021-08-05 09:01:39 –

Scott County, Kentucky (LEX 18) — Scott County School announced Thursday morning: I need a mask At the beginning of the school year.

Starting Wednesday, August 18, the first day of school, all students, staff and visitors are required to wear masks inside the building and on the school bus.

Masking requirements include preschool to grade 12 students.

Two of the most important considerations when preparing to return to school in Scott County this year are the health, well-being and safety of students and staff and the ability to directly teach the school.

Masks are highly recommended for open houses and new semester events for unvaccinated people. This will be held by the district in the coming weeks.

Scott County School says that after the start of the school year, if local data support the decision, consider other options for less stringent masking protocols for fully vaccinated people.
