Scottsdale, Arizona (AP) —Authorities say a 23-year-old man whose body was found on the Scottsdale Canal in July drunk and drove his rented scooter underwater.
Scottsdale police said Wednesday that Robert “Bobby” Quiro’s death was sentenced to accidental drowning by the Maricopa County Medical Inspector’s Office. They say the coroner’s report showed that Cuillo’s blood alcohol levels exceeded the legal limits for driving a car.
His body was found on July 19, two days after it was reported missing. Police were able to obtain GPS and tracking information from the scooter Cuillo, which was rented on a mobile phone.
