Honolulu (AP) — The search for the missing 6-year-old girl, who last saw her sleeping at her home in Hawaii, resumed on Wednesday.

According to Honolulu Police Department, Isabella Karua was last seen sleeping around 9 pm on Sunday in her room in Waimanalo, near the eastern tip of Oahu.

Police described the girl with brown eyes and brown hair as white and mixed race. Police believe she wore a black hoodie, black leggings, colorful socks, and a Nike slide with a pink sole.

“Her family and friends are worried about her safety and well-being,” Honolulu Crime Stoppers said in a news release.

Volunteers and authorities have been searching since Monday.

Interim Police Chief Rade Vanic renewed the Honolulu Police Department in a search on Wednesday. “At this point, there is not enough evidence that the child has been kidnapped,” he said.

Isabella lived with Karas for four years, but at some point in the past year or so, Karas adopted her and renamed her the cousin of Isabella’s real mother, Arena Kaeo. I told the Honolulu Star Advertiser.

Isabella’s real mother, Melanie Joseph, told the newspaper that she last met her daughter on a scheduled visit about a year ago.

“It was devastating and really devastating,” said another biological aunt, Chiara Gardeira. I told Hawaii News Now. “I wish I could do more. And we just want her house. I don’t think she’ll wander.”

According to police, “a flock of volunteers from after Waimanalo” is searching with dozens of police officers and first responders.

According to police, they searched neighborhoods, beaches and parks on foot and by plane on Tuesday.

“It’s clear that she comes from a caring family and community. We want to find her quickly and find her safe,” Banick said. “At this point, I’m asking my neighbors to check the yard and property for places where young children could go or hide. If you have a home security video, I’m See if there is anything that could help us. ”
