Plantersville, Texas — The mother of a three-year-old boy who went missing in Grimes County says he believes his son has been kidnapped. However, law enforcement officials say there is no suspicion of fraud or kidnapping at this time.

Christopher Ramirez was last seen around 1:30 pm on October 6, and entered the woods of Plantersville, Texas to play with his neighbor’s dog.

The dog is back, but Ramirez isn’t.

The mother of the missing child told the public on Thursday that she believed her son had been kidnapped.

“I feel like someone is taking him and hiding him,” she said. “I have no enemies.”

Christopher’s family said they were unloading their car when he started playing with his neighbor’s dog.

The mother claimed to have turned her back for about two minutes, and in retrospect she had no son.

She said her neighbor told her she saw Christopher chasing their dog. The mother shouted her son’s name and started running, but said she couldn’t hear the answer.

The mother went on to say that her son never went down the street without her parents and asked for help in finding the missing boy.

When asked about his mother’s allegations, Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell said there was no suspicion of cheating or kidnapping at this time.

He went on to say that no credible clues or hints of kidnapping or cheating were given.

Sheriff Sowell confirmed that his neighbor’s dog had returned without a boy.

Twenty law enforcement agencies have joined Christopher’s search and brought K9 and drones into the area.

According to officials, the canopy is thick and it is difficult to search even with a search and rescue helicopter.

On Thursday afternoon, Sheriff Sowell decided to pump and drain a pond near where the child was reported missing.

Anderson Fire, Shiro Fire, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and Hazmat International drained the pond and found nothing. Several FBI agents assisted the scene.

“We will continue to search for him until he is found. We will stay here until he is found,” Sheriff Sawell said.

Sheriff Sawell said Ramirez’s search would continue.

A criminal investigation is currently underway, according to sheriffs. It has not been confirmed who is being investigated.
