Morrisville, NC (WNCN) – Family and friends want volunteers to join on Friday as part of finding a man in Morrisville who hasn’t been contacted for nearly two weeks.

Police have been working to find Dale Wheeler since friends and colleagues reported that he was missing on November 16.

As part of the investigation, Morrisville police learned that the North Carolina Highway Patrol had Wheeler’s wrecked SUV found Under the overpass on Church Street on November 13th. The SUV that collided with the trailer caused serious damage to the front end, and investigators found a small amount of blood inside.

Wheeler’s loved ones have been looking for him over the past two weeks, so they embarked on multiple searches. They will meet near the crash scene from 11:00 am on Friday.

Wheeler’s friend Denise Spinelli said the group wanted to cover more areas, but loved ones were increasingly frustrated and couldn’t find Wheeler for a long time.

“You aren’t really emotionally thinking about your feelings because you’re working hard to find him,” Spinelli said. “We are working very hard.”

Morrisville police told CBS on November 22 that there was no firm lead in the case and Wheeler was “extremely concerned.”

The organizers said they welcome community volunteers to participate in the search on Friday. The meeting place is on Church Street near the Weaver Forest Way under the I-540 Overpass.
