The Southeastern Conference president and prime minister unanimously voted Thursday, inviting Oklahoma and Texas to the SEC from 2025.

All sports competition in Oklahoma and Texas will participate in the SEC from 1 July 2025 in the 2025-26 school year.

“Today’s unanimous vote is a testament to the SEC’s longstanding spirit of unity and mutual cooperation, as well as a recognition of the outstanding legacy of academic and athletic excellence established by the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas. “” Said SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey.
