Henderson County, NC (WSPA) – Sugarloaf Elementary School in Henderson County, North Carolina has confirmed that five staff and students are infected with COVID-19.
This is the second cluster of COVID-19 at Henderson’s public school this week. Apple Valley Middle School.
According to HCPS, these cases have been confirmed in the lab and meet the requirements of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services cluster.
The Henderson County Public Health Service also supports contacts that track people in close contact with individuals.
If your child comes into contact with someone in the cluster, a school nurse or other contact tracer from HCDPH will contact you directly.
According to the HCPS, those who test positive should follow the CDC guidelines for self-quarantine at home.
The school administrator will inform the quarantined person how to access the instructions when sufficient.
According to HCPS, Sugarloaf Elementary School will continue to operate normally, keeping students’ families up-to-date.
