Two people were killed as a result of being shot Wednesday night on Nimitz Street in Eunice.

According to Eunice police chief Randy Fontenot, one victim was sentenced to death at the shooting site. The second was taken to the hospital after the shooting and was sentenced to death shortly after being dropped off.

According to Fontenot, police officers responded to the shooting at the intersection of E. Laurel Avenue and Nimitz Street after 7 pm on Wednesday. After a while, Eunice police were informed by the Acadian Medical Center that the gunshot victim had been dropped onto the emergency room door. Passengers in black or dark pickup trucks placed the victim on the door, knocked on the door, and fled the hospital. The victim was shortly after being sentenced to death in the hospital. Two interested people were arrested and detained for cross-examination.
