(NEXSTAR) – A fairy-tale straight glass house has hit the market for $ 1.7 million in the small town of Baltimore County, Moncton, Maryland.
The 5,700-square-foot house is built like a skyscraper in that it is completely free of bearing walls. Rather, the house is supported by a series of columns and beams that connect with the ceiling.
Real estate agent W Home Group’s Alisa Goldsmith knows the 1910 Corbridge Ln. She lives with her husband, three children and two dogs. We are also grateful to the goldsmiths for designing the entire interior of the house for its elegant interior design. The house was designed and built in 1990 by a couple of architects, Bill and Pampersons.
The house may seem lacking in privacy due to the large number of windows, but Goldsmith says she has never felt “exposed or self-conscious.” .. You can deploy an automatic Lutron shade to cover the window, but “I rarely use it.”
The five-bedroom, six-bathroom home has sparked some heated debate. Goldsmith says most people either fall in love with it or don’t understand it.
“Everyone has a very strong opinion about it. There is no neutral basis. Everyone is crazy or has a lot to say,” she said.
Beyond the glass, the most unique aspect of the house is arguably its setting.
The property is right next to the idyllic Gunpowder River, where you can enjoy canoeing, kayaking, fly fishing and tubing.
“I couldn’t believe there would be a waterfront home in Baltimore County,” Goldsmith said.
