Topeka, Kansas (KSNT) – US Senator Jerry Moran, Kansas, said people in the state need access to more vaccines.
“The biggest problem I have is,’How can I produce more vaccines in this country and distribute them to Kansas?'” Moran said.
He said he was pleased with the increase in vaccine production and the approaching approval of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine by the Food and Drug Administration. Moran talked about what he wanted to see on Monday morning while touring the vaccination site at the Topika VA Medical Center. He said he needed better logistics and improved delivery. Kansas also struggled to report how many shots were shot. He said accuracy was important.
“It bothers me that Kansas was small on the list,” Moran said. “Records management, bureaucracy, the paperwork that accompanies it, and the computer work that accompanies it will be a national issue. I’ll give it data to show that Kansas is vaccinated. I hope we can fix it. “
Moran also said that stronger efforts are needed to encourage more people to take shots.
“There are still people who are reluctant to vaccinate,” Moran said. “I don’t think it’s a Kansas issue, but it’s a national issue.”
